      The primary goal is employment. Vocational Rehabilitation provides individualized vocational guidance and counseling as well as other services to assist people with disabilities to make informed choices concerning their careers so that they can become successfully employed. The Division is responsible for administering two major programs. This chapter discusses vocational rehabilitation and resettlement. It describes some of the main characteristics of vocational evaluation and work adjustment. Vocational rehabilitation is the process of helping people with disabilities to get back to work following some kind of injury or illness.

      Rehabilitation practitioners face the difficult task of helping clients adjust to chronic illness or disability. This can be a long and trying process for both practitioner and client.
